THE ART DEPARTMENT FACULTYJeanne Buccino (Chairperson)
Anthony Biondolillo Jean-Marc Duplessis Donna Mejia Kathleen Lynch Dianna Shmerykowsky Our objective is to foster the growth of all students in sensitivity, skill, and appreciation of the Arts while developing perception, personal insight and conceptual thinking.
The Fine Arts Program (Visual and Performing) is consistent with the school community’s goals. The Art Department provides a sequential program of instruction that integrates the four disciplines of art: art production, art history, art criticism and aesthetics, while fulfilling National and State Standards. Each student is given first the fundamentals to enjoy the art experience, and then the opportunity to develop on a much more advanced level either for self-fulfillment or to prepare and qualify for admissions to a recognized art program on the college level. Our success is shown by the admittance of a large number of our graduating seniors to many of the most prestigious colleges in the U.S., frequently receiving scholarships based on their academic and artistic accomplishments. These institutions include: School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, Rhode Island School of Design, Fashion Institute of Technology, SCAD, Lesley University, New York Institute of Technology, New York University/Tisch, Cornell University, Art Institute of Boston, LIM College, SUNY Purchase, Art Center of Pasadena and many more. |
